Queen – Ruling hearts everywhere

I saw the movie “Queen” over the weekend and I must tell you, it is brilliant.

It’s heartening to see the trend of women centric movies catching up and this movie is no less than English Vinglish, Kahaani or even Noone killed Jessica. Infact it has surpassed English Vinglish in many ways.

It’s a fun movie and an absolute must-see. Kangana’s acting keeps you hooked and so does the humour in the film. Infact unlike the many Indian movies that are made nowadays, this one is a refreshing change as it isn’t a sappy romantic movie where there is a forced into love angle and innumerable problems in the lives of the lead characters.

(Warning – May contain spoilers ahead!)

Now back to the movie, Kangana plays a simple girl from Rajouri, Delhi whose fiance Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) cancels their wedding a day before it is to take place (The guy was crazy :P). After hours of sobbing, she decides to go to their honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam, alone!
While in Paris, she meets Vijayalakshmi aka Vijay (how ironic- her fiance’s name was the same :D) in an unusual setting and although the two are opposites in character, they become good friends. Lisa Haydon has done a good job playing the wild, carefree, living life to the fullest girl – Vijayalakshmi.

Watching Paris on screen was a delight and I also loved the drunk dance that Rani did in front of a cab driver πŸ˜€
Such moments made this flick absolutely unforgettable.

After Paris, she goes to Amsterdam where she has to share a room with 3 guys – Alexander aka Sikandar πŸ˜› (Mish Boyko),  Taka (Jeffrey Ho) and Tim (Joseph Guitobh) who end up becoming her friends.

It’s a beautiful film that captures the journey of a woman from being dependent on others to learning how to be independent and enjoy life.

The dialogues are awesome and the songs fit in well. The casting has also been done perfectly and each actor fits into the character they’re supposed to play with ease. Alexander is extremely cute ❀ Loved Mish in the movie. If not for anything else, I'd suggest all of you girls out there, watch the movie for him πŸ˜›

Canadea Lopez Marco as Marcello also deserves a special mention. He was endearing πŸ™‚

Go watch this movie if you haven’t yet, I’m sure you won’t regret. It’s a welcome change from all the sleaze and item number laden movies that you see around nowadays. If you still aren’t convinced, all I can say is – β€œManchow…Maan Jao”.. πŸ˜› Let me know your views on this movie thereafter πŸ™‚ I’d love to know what you think.

My rating for the movie – 10/10
